Darchem Engineering secures multimillion dollar oil field contract
05 March, 2010

Darchem Engineering has secured a multimillion dollar contract to supply Jet Fire Darmatt™ passive fire protection systems on emergency shutdown valves, actuators and control panels for the Kashagan Field – Tranches 1, 2 and 3 within Kazakhstan. The latest generation of Darchem J120 incorporates Darvent™ which allows for optimised air cooling against higher process temperatures, whilst retaining the integrity of the passive fire protection.

The contract has been awarded by Petrofac for the AGIP Kazakhstan North Caspian Operating Company. This contract has taken 20 months of careful negotiations prior to its signature on the 1st March 2010.

The manufacturing phase of the contract is planned to be completed by the end of 2010 prior to site installation, which will be supervised by Darchem personnel and will be completed in 2011.

Darchem Engineering is a world leader in the development of passive fire protection systems for the oil, gas, petrochemical and nuclear industries.
