SCM LAUNCHES EFFECTIVENESS AUDIT PROGRAMME TO OFFER MAJOR PLANT MAINTANCE COST REDUCTIONS

SCM LAUNCHES EFFECTIVENESS AUDIT PROGRAMME TO OFFER MAJOR PLANT MAINTANCE COST REDUCTIONS

Strategic Corrosion Management has launched a specialist Fabric and Corrosion Maintenance audit to meet a growing demand from across the production and process industry.

Following a number of bespoke effectiveness audits for companies including BP, Shell and Centrica on plants around the world, SCM has created a standardised Effectiveness Audit, which can be used as a benchmarking tool to review the efficiency of plant maintenance programmes.

The Effectiveness Audit is an assessment, review and presentation package that can be tailored to individual plants and can help reduce maintenance costs by up to 85% over the lifetime of a plant.

During an assessment programme of up to three days, an experienced SCM Consultant reviews  external corrosion management procedures alongside plant life expectancy, process-type, environmental and legislative constraints.

The consultant will also analyse maintenance records and planned plant developments to develop a cost-effective future corrosion management strategy and programme.

Based on SCM’s considerable experience in this field, the company is able to anonymously benchmark clients’ corrosion management programmes against other organisations, which have developed effective fabric management processes.

Ian Cordingley, Managing Director of SCM, said: “The Effectiveness Audit offers a realistic and transparent demonstration of efficient and effective Fabric Maintenance Management, which can lead to significant cost savings.”

“Over the lifetime of a production plant or process facility a significant percentage of revenue is inevitably spent on its maintenance.  Our audit programme enables professionals including Asset Managers, Corrosion and Process Engineers to efficiently assess plant status and set strategy for on-going maintenance requirements.”
