Department for International Trade (DIT) North East’s Virtual Export Manager Programme

Department for International Trade (DIT) North East’s Virtual Export Manager Programme

Could an extra £3,000 help your company solve an export problem?

The Virtual Export Manager Programme matches a North East of England company* with an experienced international trade professional (the Virtual Export Manager) and provides up to £3,000 match-funding to enable the company to ‘buy-in’ their expertise and work with them for a time-limited period; providing crucial expertise, skills on an export specific project that they might not be able to undertake themselves, but could be vital to the growth and on-going success of their business.’

This export project might be to exploit an overseas market opportunity or solve a technical export problem which is hindering your international sales ambitions. Funding is available for both new and experienced exporters and previous VEM projects have included:

  • Market research opportunities in the gas and oil industry
    • Identifying agents in the US
    • Drawing up joint venture agreements
    • Researching licensing strategies in Europe
    • Supporting product registration

The key benefit to companies is that it is tailored to their specific needs. It’s not a one-size fits all service. When time, funds, staff resources are scarce or stretched, having an international trade expert work with you can be a major development in a business’ growth.

For further information or to discuss your particular export project please contact the VEM Programme Manager, Nynzi Maung via email: Nynzi.maung@mobile.trade.gov.uk or mobile: 07568109692

The Department for International Trade (DIT) North East’s Virtual Export Manager Programme is part-funded through the Expanding North East Presence in International Markets Project, which is part of the ERDF.

* As an European Regional Development Fund grant, eligible businesses must be located in the North East LEP area of the UK offering UK products or services and demonstrate a commitment to growth through international trade.  Funding is offered on a 50% match funding basis up to a maximum of £3,000.00.
