Russia Oil & Gas Market Briefing with Albion Overseas

Albion Overseas

About Albion Overseas

Since 1996, Albion has assisted companies in procuring EAC Product Certification as well as providing a route to market for countries including Turkmenistan, Russia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

Albion work closely with the DIT, the RBCC and various Chambers and trade associations to provide the best possible help. They offer Eurasian Conformity Product Certification, comprehensive Russia cultural training, and various guides on doing business in Russia.

Why Russia?

Russia is the largest and most important market of the TRAK countries, but in many ways it is the most complex.  Russia is one of the world’s leading oil producers.  Of the 10 million plus barrels extracted on a daily basis, only about 4 million are exported, because Russia is a developed industrial economy in its own right with a thirst for hydrocarbons.

In natural gas, Russia is the world’s number one producer, depending on the year, with output ranging from about 450 to nearly 600 billion cubic meters per annum, of which it exports roughly 200 billion cubic meters of natural gas on an annual basis.  Russia’s near monopoly producer, Gazprom, has more than 36 trillion cubic meters of gas in the ground and operates the world’s largest network of gas transmission pipelines.  Other gas producers include Novatek and Russia’s many oil companies.  As is often noted, we humans like to characterize hydrocarbon producers into oil and gas companies but the deposits they develop bring them both.
