Business Opportunities Workshop: Offshore Renewables Sector

Confirmed Speakers

Untitled 3

Maersk Training June 2014  Tekmar

Why Offshore Wind?

Offshore Wind already contributes 5 per cent of the UK’s electricity and supports around 15,000 jobs. Here in the UK, the aim is to source 15 per cent of our energy from renewables by 2020 and by the end of the decade the UK’s offshore wind sector is expected to have doubled in size.

NOF Energy in partnership with BVG (Consultancy Partner) invite you to be part of our dynamic diversification support programme. Since 2009 our experienced team has helped members move and grow into NEW sectors with NEW technologies, solutions and innovations to win NEW business.

The workshop will focus on offshore renewables and will cover areas such as:

• Overview of the renewables sector: Market evolution, future trends, the economic argument, external market forces and government policy.

• Key players and supply chain considerations: overview of the supply chain key players, wind technologies, contracting methods, chronological full lifecycle and where the money goes.

• Offshore wind: high potential supply sub-elements: a cradle to grave review of the 35 sub-elements of supply, development, manufacture, deployment and operation. Identification of high potential diversification opportunities.

• Approaching the offshore wind market: Understanding and navigating the diversification challenge, key differences in wind, how to target the sector and positioning yourself for success.

Other areas will include:

•             Guest speakers from the offshore wind contractor community

•             Key players (UK) including developers and key contractors

•             Overview of projects

•             Technology demand areas

•             Key European market suppliers highlighted

•             Reasons to look further afield such as China, Taiwan, USA etc.

In the afternoon, facilitated breakout sessions will be organised with leading offshore wind businesses and Energi Coast companies.
